zann is a free stem splitter run by Politrops. When you upload a song or paste a link, the audio is processed on servers we rent, the original file is deleted after 30 days, and the resulting stems stay available at their link until you ask us to remove them. There are no accounts, no cookies banner, and we do not sell or share your data. This page says exactly what happens and what the service is for.
What we process, and where
The audio you upload, or that we fetch from a link you paste, is processed on servers we rent from DigitalOcean in Germany and from Amazon Web Services in Germany, Ireland and the United States. It is not sent to any third-party AI or analytics service. The audio is on the processing server for the few minutes the separation takes and is removed from it when the job ends.
What we keep, and for how long
- The original audio you uploaded or that we downloaded for you: deleted automatically after 30 days.
- The stems (four tracks, as FLAC and MP3), the waveform data, and the job record (the song title or file name, the link you pasted if any, timings): kept so that your link keeps working. There is currently no automatic deletion; if we introduce a retention period, this page will say so first.
- Server logs with the requesting IP address, the file name or link, and timings: kept for about a week, then overwritten. They stay on our server and are used only to run and debug the service.
- Usage analytics: we use PostHog, hosted in the EU, with anonymous profiles, to see which features are used. It sets no identifying cookies, so there is no cookies banner.
Who can see your stems
Anyone who has the link. Links contain a long random token and cannot be guessed, and we do not list or publish them. If you do not want others to hear your stems, do not share the link.
Deleting your data
Email legal@deeger.io with the link to the job and we will delete the stems and the job record within 48 hours. Rights holders can use the same address to request the removal of material they own; we respond within 48 hours.
What the service is for
Separating a song into stems does not transfer its copyright. zann is for studying, practising and making your own music from audio you own or are allowed to use. By uploading a file or pasting a link you confirm that you have the right to process that audio, and that the stems are for your private study and practice. Do not redistribute stems, transcriptions or other material derived from recordings you do not own, and do not release work built on someone else's recording without their permission.
Importing from YouTube and other sites is offered on the same basis: you, not zann, choose what to import, and the terms above apply to it. If we receive a complaint about imported material we remove it, and we may restrict or remove importing from particular sources.
Limits and no warranty
Separation is done by a machine-learning model and is imperfect: expect bleed and artefacts, and treat tempo, key and groove figures as estimates. The service is provided as is, free of charge, and may change or stop without notice. Files are limited to 50 MB, and a fair-use limit of a few jobs per hour applies to each visitor.
